Castello di Felino

The castle stands on a hill between Parma and Baganza streams, featuring robust walls, four corner towers, and a deep protective moat.

Built in 890 by Marquis Luppone, the castle reached its architectural peak in the late 14th century under the ownership of the Rossi family.

The castle contains a chapel and an oratory dedicated to San Pietro, decorated with frescoes displaying the coats of arms of previous owners.

The castle functions as a hotel and restaurant, offering spaces for cultural events, private celebrations, and houses a museum dedicated to local salami.

The castle basement includes ancient prison cells, while the courtyard presents porticos and balconies that replaced the original defensive walkways.
