Two artists created the wall paintings depicting scenes of the Virgin Mary and Saint Stephen between 1435 and 1450. This fresco cycle emerged during a period of major artistic innovation in the Italian Renaissance.
The chapel displays religious narratives with figures wearing 15th-century clothing that reflects daily life of that era. These depictions allow visitors to step into the spiritual world of the Middle Ages.
