Santissima Trinità, Catholic church in Vomero district, Naples, Italy
Santissima Trinità is a Catholic church in the Vomero district located on Via Tasso with a single-nave structure. The marble altar from the 17th century was enhanced in the 18th century with additional steps and sculptured angels.
The church was constructed in 1934 to replace San Tommaso d'Aquino, which was demolished during the reconstruction of the Rione Carità district. This new foundation was part of Naples' urban changes in that era.
The church carries its name and numerous furnishings from the former Santissima Trinità alla Cesarea, including the piperno stone portal and several altars. These elements reflect the area's religious heritage.
The church is open for regular services and administered by the Naples Archdiocese. Visitors can find additional information about visiting hours and special events through the website www.sstrinitanapoli.it.
The main altar's antependium displays craftsmanship from the 1630s attributed to Costantino Marasi and Giovanni Mozzetta. This piece is an example of the artful details preserved from the earlier church.
