Certosa di Maggiano

Certosa di Maggiano is a monastic complex near Siena featuring Renaissance-style proportions and carefully carved stone details throughout its buildings. A cardinal established this monastery in 1316 as a Carthusian community in the Siena region. Over the following centuries it remained a working religious site until eventually moving toward other purposes.
