Nostra Signora Assunta e Santa Zita, Renaissance Revival church in Foce district, Genoa, Italy.

Nostra Signora Assunta e Santa Zita is a church located in Genoa between Via di Santa Zita and Corso Buenos Aires, displaying Florentine Renaissance Revival design with carefully crafted architectural details. The building features a distinctly shaped facade and a thoughtfully planned interior layout typical of late 19th-century religious structures.

The current structure was built in 1893, replacing an older church from the 13th century that Lucchese merchants established near the Bisagno river. The reconstruction reflects the growth and changing needs of the local community during the industrial age.

The church is dedicated to two female saints: the Assumption of Mary and Santa Zita, a Lucchese saint known for her charity work. The combination of these two dedications reflects the historical presence of Lucchese merchants in this neighborhood.

The interior of the church is generally accessible to visitors during regular opening hours and religious observances. It is advisable to check information about current schedules in advance to ensure a visit is possible.

The portal from the previous church remains preserved at the back of the building and displays three statues from the 16th century created by Paracca. These retained elements offer a rare glimpse into the artistic standards of earlier periods.
