Santi Aquila e Priscilla, Modern Catholic church in Portuense district, Rome, Italy
Santi Aquila e Priscilla is a modern Catholic church in the Portuense district with an elliptical floor plan. The building features a neo-Byzantine mural in the chancel and a pipe organ used for musical performances.
The church was built in 1992 and consecrated by Pope John Paul II on November 15. It gained the status of a titular church 2 years later.
The church takes its name from two 1st-century Christian figures, Aquila and Priscilla, who led house-churches in Rome and supported early Christian communities. Their names recall important figures in the early church's development.
The church is located on Via Pietro Blaserna 113 and maintains a nursery facility at its entrance. Families with children can find additional support when attending religious services.
The church received the designation as a titular church in 1994, giving it a special standing in the Catholic church hierarchy. Since 2019 it has been held by Cardinal Juan Garcia Rodriguez of Havana.
