Sant'Agostino, Cesena, Religious complex in Cesena, Italy

Sant'Agostino is a monastery church in Cesena designed with a single nave and chapels along both sides. The interior displays numerous paintings and decorative elements arranged throughout the space.

Franciscan friars established the original structure here in 1252 as their presence grew in the city. The building underwent complete reconstruction in the mid-1700s following designs by architect Luigi Vanvitelli.

The church houses paintings that reflect how local artists expressed religious themes and devotion. These artworks show the spiritual values that shaped the community's visual culture over centuries.

The church is located in Cesena's historic center on Via Scevola Riceputi and is easy to reach on foot. It maintains regular hours for religious services, so checking ahead before your visit is a good idea.

The building's facade remains incomplete and lacks the marble cladding that Vanvitelli originally intended for it. This unfinished state has been visible for centuries, giving the structure a distinctive raw appearance.
