Cinecittà World

Cinecittà World is an amusement park in Castel Romano, a frazione in the municipality south of Rome, offering attractions and shows centered on film and entertainment. The grounds divide into seven themed zones, including Ancient Rome, Spaceland, Far West, and Adventureland, with rides suited to families and older children.

The park opened in 2014 on a site previously occupied by film studios that Dino De Laurentiis founded in the 1960s. This connection to Italian cinema history shapes the concept and design of the themed zones throughout.

The park's name references the famous Cinecittà Studios in Rome, bringing film history into a leisure format. Visitors walk through recreated sets and scenes that recall Italian and international cinema productions, linking rides and attractions to the world of movie-making.

The park opens on weekends and holidays, with additional weekday hours during summer months, and lies about 30 kilometers (19 miles) south of central Rome. Onsite restaurants and picnic areas provide places to take a break between rides.

The Reino del Ghiaccio section houses an indoor area with real snow and ice scenery, maintaining winter temperatures all year round. The Volarium offers a flying experience in a simulator that carries visitors over recreated Italian landscapes.
