Piscinas, Sandy beach in Arbus, Sardinia

Piscinas is a sandy beach along the Costa Verde coastline with characteristic dunes rising up to 60 meters and stretching for several kilometers. The wide shoreline slopes gently into the sea and is enclosed by heavily forested cliffs and coastal hills.

The beach sits beside former mining settlements whose operations lasted from the 19th century through the mid-20th century. This mining activity shaped the entire region and left behind abandoned sites like Ingurtosu that remain visible today.

Fishing families have worked here for generations, using the bay as a natural harbor for their boats during summer months. The way they spread and repair their nets on the sand continues to shape the character of the place today.

The beach has parking available nearby and is relatively easy to reach on foot, though it remains a natural and undeveloped location. The best conditions are found during warmer months when basic services like loungers and food options become available.

Beneath the water off the coast lies an 18th-century archaeological treasure, an English ship discovered while exploring the area's underwater geology. This sunken vessel creates a fascinating connection between maritime history and the waters visitors see today.
