Scivu

Scivu is a sand beach along Costa Verde in Sardinia, divided into two sections by a small reef that creates distinct swimming areas. The shoreline stretches for several kilometers with fine golden sand backed by towering dunes.

The region took its name from the thick Mediterranean vegetation covering the surrounding mountains. This natural landscape has shaped the area for generations.

Local fishermen continue their traditional practice of surf-casting at Scivu beach, taking advantage of the diverse Mediterranean fish populations.

Access requires leaving SS126 toward Arbus and following mountain tracks to reach the parking area at the end. Plan for rough road conditions and allow extra time for the journey.

The sand produces a squeaking echo-like sound when walked upon, a rare phenomenon that catches visitors off guard. Dunes tower at 70 meters high, creating a dramatic backdrop to the shoreline.
