Cathedral of Carini

The Cathedral of Carini is a 15th-century church building with two bell towers on its front facade, one of which remains unfinished. Inside, three naves divided by paired columns create a rhythmic flow through the worship space.

Construction began during the Renaissance in the 15th century and underwent substantial changes in the late 18th century. Those later works reshaped the building into the form visitors see today.

The building served as the spiritual heart of the town and reflects the local community's devotion through its commissioned religious artwork. Today, visitors can see how Renaissance ideals shaped the place where townspeople gathered for centuries.

The building sits in Piazza del Duomo, positioned between the Oratorio della Compagnia del Santissimo Sacramento and the Church of San Vito. This location makes it easy to explore multiple religious sites in a single visit.

The interior displays neoclassical frescoes completed in 1795 by Giuseppe Testa alongside detailed stucco work throughout the space. This artisan decoration represents a notable layer of artistic history added to the building centuries after its construction.
