Europark Idroscalo Milano, Amusement park in Novegro, Segrate, Italy
Europark Idroscalo Milano is an amusement park in Segrate, just east of Milan, with over 35 rides and attractions spread across its grounds. The offer covers roller coasters, bumper cars, water slides, a Ferris wheel, go-karts, a bowling alley, and a laser game arena.
Lunapark Milano opened in 1965 for a 45-day season, extended to two months in 1966 and three in 1967; lighting added in 1968 kept it open into September. In 1970 it became a permanent park with its current calendar. After closing in 2003, new owners reopened it in 2004 as Europark Idroscalo Milano, adding motion simulators, a house of horrors and the 30-metre Super Frisbee.
The park is named after the Idroscalo, the artificial lake nearby, but it stands in Segrate on Via Rivoltana, not on the shore. Since 2019 it has hosted the MJ Italian Memorial Place, a 32-foot statue of Michael Jackson made to promote his 1995 HIStory album. In 2016 several scenes of Fuga da Reuma Park, directed by and starring Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo, were filmed here.
The park is open on weekends throughout the year and every day from March through September. Arriving early helps avoid longer queues that tend to build up on weekend afternoons.
Since 2019 the park has hosted the MJ Italian Memorial Place, a 32-foot statue of Michael Jackson made for the 1995 HIStory album promotion. The Super Frisbee, a 30-meter swing ride, is among the park's tallest attractions.
