Monte Bracco, Mountain summit in Piedmont, Italy
Monte Bracco rises 1,306 meters above sea level between the Po Valley, Infernotto Valley, and Cuneo plain, featuring gradual western slopes and steep eastern cliffs.
During medieval times, stone quarries operated on Monte Bracco, extracting gneiss and quartzite for local construction projects, as noted in Leonardo da Vinci's manuscripts.
The mountain contains numerous prehistoric rock carvings, while the Convento della Trappa, constructed in 1248, represents centuries of monastic presence in the region.
The Giro del Bracco trail extends over 20 kilometers around the mountain, offering paths for hiking, mountain biking, and winter snowshoeing activities.
The mountain's climbing routes, ranging from difficulty levels 4a to 7c+, showcase diverse technical challenges across approximately 70 meters of established paths.
