Punta Ostanetta

Punta Ostanetta is a mountain summit in Piedmont that stands at about 2,400 meters and can be reached from Serre in the Ostana area. The peak features stone markers at its north ridge and connects to a network of trails suitable for hiking and skiing.

The peak has served as a landmark for travelers crossing the Valle Po region since early Alpine exploration began. Its position made it an important reference point throughout the development of mountain routes over many centuries.

The mountain area shows traces of traditional Alpine life through the way locals and visitors move through the seasons. The landscape reflects practices passed down through generations of people who made their livelihood from these mountains.

The best time to visit is during summer and autumn when conditions are most stable for hiking. The routes from Serre vary in difficulty and require warm clothing and sturdy footwear, especially since mountain weather can change quickly.

From this location, the massive pyramid shape of Monviso is clearly visible, one of the region's most striking mountain peaks. To the west lies the Cistercian monastery of Pra d'Mill, which can be seen from the summit.
