Cadreghe di Viso, Mountain summit in Cottian Alps, Italy

Cadreghe di Viso is a mountain summit in the Cottian Alps that reaches 3,190 meters and features five distinctive rock spires. These prominent formations rise between Monte Viso and Visolotto and create the peak's most recognizable characteristic.

The first recorded ascent took place on August 26, 1878, when Paul Guillemin and André Salvador de Quatrefages led a team to the summit. This landmark established the peak's place among climbed Alpine peaks of the era.

The name Cadreghe comes from Piedmontese dialect and refers to chair-like rock formations that give the five spires their distinctive appearance.

The route to the summit passes through Rifugio Vallanta at 2,450 meters and crosses the Vallanta glacier before entering rocky terrain. Climbers should be prepared for steep and exposed sections and have proper glacier travel equipment and experience.

The south side features more accessible rocky terrain while the north drops sharply toward the Coolidge glacier. This contrast means climbers experience two very different approaches depending on their chosen route.
