Punta Tre Chiosis, Mountain summit in Piedmont, Italy
Punta Tre Chiosis is a mountain summit in the Cottian Alps reaching about 3,080 meters (10,105 feet). From its rounded peak, you can see across three valleys: Chiosis, Tiuri, and Savaresch.
Hiking routes to the summit developed during the 20th century, contributing to mountaineering activity in the Monviso group. This made the mountain part of the modern Alpine climbing culture in the region.
A metal cross at the peak reflects Italian Alpine tradition, where significant summits serve as places of reflection for mountaineers. You can see this marker as a focal point when you reach the top.
The climb starts from Genzana hamlet, where a chairlift from Pontechianale can reduce elevation gain during the climbing season. This helps especially with the initial ascent and makes the route more manageable for different ability levels.
Despite its notable height, this summit receives fewer visitors than other peaks in the Monviso group. Its vantage point makes it a valued destination for peak collectors exploring the broader Alpine region.
