Litorale del Cavallino

Litorale del Cavallino is a beach area along the Adriatic Sea with fine golden sand and shallow waters. The coastline stretches for several kilometers, offering areas for swimming and various water sports and recreational activities.

This area was part of Venice until 1999, when a local referendum led to the creation of the independent municipality of Cavallino-Treporti. That vote marked a significant change in how the coastal region was governed.

Local craft markets held regularly along the coast showcase traditional Venetian products and regional artisanal goods. The area serves as a gathering point for both residents and visitors during summer months.

The coast has numerous campsites, hotels, and beach facilities providing accommodations and services. Visitors should know that the beach can get crowded depending on the season, so checking opening times and facilities beforehand is helpful.

The area includes protected sand dunes with wild orchids and a pine forest that forms a natural barrier between the Venetian Lagoon and the Adriatic Sea. These ecologically valuable habitats make the location more than just a swimming destination.
