Monte Finestra rises to 1138 meters within the Lattari Mountains, forming part of the mountain range that separates the Gulf of Naples from Salerno.
The mountain received its name from a natural opening in the rock formation that creates a window-like appearance visible from the surrounding valleys.
Local residents maintain a strong connection to Monte Finestra through annual competitions, including the Vertikal race that spans 970 meters of vertical ascent.
The ascent requires approximately 5 hours to complete, covering 7 kilometers of terrain with steep sections that demand proper hiking equipment and physical preparation.
The mountain features path C.A.I. 308a, named after Sergio Rosa, who lost his life attempting to scale the challenging rock walls during the 1940s.
