Museo storico Giuseppe Garibaldi

The Giuseppe Garibaldi Historical Museum occupies the fifteenth century Palazzo Olginati, displaying collections about Italian military and social history through multiple centuries.

The museum opened in 1932 to mark five decades since Giuseppe Garibaldi's presence in Como during the 1866 military operations for Italian independence.

The museum collection includes military uniforms, weapons, documents, and personal objects from the Napoleonic era through both World Wars.

Located at Piazza Medaglie d'Oro 1, the museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00, with regular admission at 5 euros.

The museum preserves objects from the Battle of San Fermo, where Garibaldi's forces defeated Austrian troops in 1859, leading to Como's liberation.
