Civic Museum of Palazzo Mosca

The Civic Museum of Palazzo Mosca holds more than 500 artworks spread across five exhibition halls, with paintings, ceramics, porcelain, and glass from different eras. The rooms provide a survey of artistic development from the medieval period to modern times within a manageable collection.

The building originated in the 16th century and was later renovated before the municipality acquired it in 1936 to establish a museum. This conversion saved the historic palazzo and made the collections accessible to the public.

The palazzo takes its name from the family who shaped it during the 18th century and filled it with valued objects. Walking through the rooms, you notice the refined details they chose, revealing how they used the space to express their status and taste.

The halls are accessible for wheelchairs and visitors will find a cafe, bookstore, and archive on the premises. The collection can be viewed in a few hours, allowing for a relaxed visit without requiring an entire day.

A standout piece is a 1925 porcelain vase titled La passeggiata archeologica, designed by Gio Ponti at Manifattura Doccia. This object demonstrates how craft traditions and modern design converged during that period.
