Nuraghe Is Paras, Bronze Age archaeological site in Isili, Italy

Nuraghe Is Paras is a Bronze Age fortified tower complex with a central tower roughly 12.5 meters across and three additional towers connected by stone walls. The structure contains chambers and passages that run through the complex, showing advanced building techniques.

This site was built during the Bronze Age roughly 3500 years ago and served as an important defensive position in Sardinia. The construction of the central tower with its vaulted chamber represents an early achievement in ancient Mediterranean architecture.

The name comes from the Sardinian language and refers to the tower structures typical of this island. The rooms and passages inside show how the Nuragic people organized their spaces for daily life and defense.

The site sits on high ground with wide views over the surrounding landscape and is easily reached from the nearby town. It is wise to wear sturdy shoes, as the ground is uneven and the old stone structures can be slippery.

Inside the central tower sits a circular well, showing how residents once stored water for daily needs. The preserved spiral staircase leads to upper levels where watchers or inhabitants had their spaces.
