Palazzo comunale, Municipal palace in Modena, Italy
The palace features a long portico with marble columns, three additional arches added in 1825 to the five existing ones on the right side.
Since the 12th century, the palace has served as the seat of municipal authorities, with twelve different structures occupying the site between the 11th and 15th centuries.
The Fire Room contains paintings by Nicolò dell'Abate depicting Roman history scenes, including the Second Triumvirate and the siege of Modena in 44 BC.
Visitors can access the historical rooms Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and Saturday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM with mandatory reservations.
The palace houses the Secchia Rapita, a wooden bucket taken from Bologna during the 1325 Battle of Zappolino, now displayed in the Camerino dei Confirmati.
