Capri Philosophical Park

Capri Philosophical Park is a retreat on Anacapri with three distinct walking routes through Mediterranean plants and shrubs. The pathways offer views toward the Faraglioni rock formations and the lighthouse at Punta Carena.

A Swedish economist created this space in the late 1900s as a gift to the island and its inhabitants. The park emerged from the vision of combining philosophical reflection with the natural setting.

The pathways feature engraved stone tiles with philosophical quotes from thinkers across cultures and centuries. As visitors walk through the park, these inscriptions create moments for reflection about ideas that have shaped human thinking.

Reach the park by bus to Anacapri's final stop past Piazza Caprile, then walk to Belvedere di Migliara. The terrain is hilly and requires sturdy footwear and time to explore comfortably.

Each of the three routes follows a different philosophical theme: one focuses on Idealism, another on Realism, and the third on Wisdom. This structure allows visitors to explore different schools of thought while moving through the same landscape.
