Parco Rile Tenore Olona, Nature reserve in Castiglione Olona, Italy.
Parco Rile Tenore Olona is a nature reserve in the Lombardy region featuring a landscape shaped by glacial and water processes, with multiple streams flowing through the territory. The terrain displays distinctive terraced formations created by these natural forces over thousands of years, supporting diverse ecosystems.
The protected area was established in 1983 with eight founding municipalities as initial members. Between 2007 and 2017, four additional communities joined the initiative, expanding the reserve across a broader region.
The park contains multiple historical sites and serves as an educational center where visitors learn about environmental conservation through organized programs and activities.
The reserve can be accessed from several entry points throughout the region and offers an extensive network of walking trails for exploring the natural landscape. Sturdy footwear is advisable as some paths traverse damp or uneven terrain.
The name comes from three main waterways: the Rile and Tenore torrents and the Olona River, which flow through the territory from north to south. These three water systems are central to understanding the park's natural structure and ecology.
