Monti Lessini: Cascate di Molina, Natura 2000 protected waterfall park in Fumane, Italy

Monti Lessini: Cascate di Molina is a protected natural park with several waterfalls flowing through limestone rock formations and creating emerald-colored pools. The waterfalls form from natural springs that run through the area year-round.

The rock in the Molina valley emerged during the Cenozoic era, 25 to 30 million years ago, and was then shaped by weathering. The park lies where the Molina, Cesara and Scalucce valleys meet, and the streams cut the gorge and its waterfalls. The archaeologically important Grotta di Fumane lies a few kilometres down the valley.

The park's waterfalls have appeared in music videos: Giorgia filmed scenes for "Quando una stella muore", Modà for "Dove è sempre sole" and Sonohra for "Oltre i suoi passi". Visitors can also ride a swing set into a waterfall and a zip line over a stream.

The park has marked trails at different difficulty levels, so visitors can choose different routes based on their pace and abilities. It is best to wear hiking shoes and bring water, especially during warmer months.

The park lies within the 233-hectare Natura 2000 site Monti Lessini: Cascate di Molina, and the archaeologically important Grotta di Fumane is only a few kilometres down the valley.
