Palazzo dei Congressi, building in Riccione, Italy

Palazzo dei Congressi is a modern convention center in Riccione, constructed from steel and glass with large windows and bright spaces throughout. The building contains multiple flexible conference halls, six cinema rooms, underground parking, and a panoramic terrace overlooking the city.

The project began in 1999 and was completed with its opening in May 2008. The design was created by three architects and an architectural studio aiming to build a modern and versatile venue.

The city's name comes from the Greek word 'archeion', referring to a plant that once grew on local beaches. This place reflects Riccione's tradition of hospitality, where visitors naturally combine work with leisure and enjoy the surrounding shops, cafes, and seaside life.

The building stands on Viale Virgilio. Two underground levels serve as parking decks, and the ground floor holds a commercial area separate from the congress halls. The main reception, bar, internet point and information desk are on the first floor; the cinema rooms are on the second.

The Concordia hall's 1,400 seats are mounted on a mechanism patented by Poltrona Frau that lowers them into the floor in under five minutes, leaving a single 1,800 m² room. The five conference halls on the third and fourth floors are named after the most notable women of the Malatesta family.
