Riserva naturale Torbiere del Sebino

Riserva naturale Torbiere del Sebino is a protected regional nature reserve on the southern shore of Lake Iseo with extensive wetland habitats. The area features reed beds, shallow ponds, and deeper water basins that create diverse environments for wildlife.

The area served as a peat extraction site through the late 1700s before transitioning to conservation purposes. Regional protection status was formally established in 1984, transforming the landscape from industrial use to wildlife habitat.

The San Pietro in Lamosa Monastery near the reserve entrance represents the connection between local religious heritage and natural conservation efforts.
