Rifugio Capanna 2000

Rifugio Capanna 2000 sits at 1960 meters on the southern slopes of Pizzo Arera and provides views across the Orobie Prealps and Seriana valleys. The facility houses 40 sleeping spaces, 80 dining seats, hot water, showers, and electricity.

The refuge was established to support mountaineers exploring the Orobie Alps and became a reliable base for generations of outdoor enthusiasts. Its creation marked an important turning point for safe mountain tourism in this region.

The shelter embodies traditional Alpine hospitality, where visitors share meals and stories while experiencing the mountain landscape of northern Italy. Guests encounter people from different regions who share the same passion for outdoor exploration.

The refuge is reachable by car to a nearby parking area during summer months. Visitors should check seasonal availability and weather conditions before planning a visit.

From the refuge, visitors can hike the Sentiero dei Fiori, a trail featuring many rare mountain flowers that grow naturally in the Alpine environment. This path reveals the rich plant life that thrives at this elevation.
