Rifugio Brioschi, Mountain shelter in Pasturo, Italy.
Rifugio Brioschi is a mountain hut sitting on the summit of the Northern Grigna, in the Lombard Alps near Pasturo, at about 2,410 meters (7,910 feet) above sea level. The structure offers a panoramic view over the Po Valley, the Alps, and the lakes of Lombardy.
The hut opened on October 10, 1895, making it one of the oldest mountain refuges in Lombardy. For over a century it has been a key stop for mountaineers exploring the Grigna area.
The Rifugio Brioschi is part of the Ecomuseo delle Grigne network, which documents the natural and human history of the mountain area. Visitors can find materials and information about local traditions and the environment right at the refuge.
The refuge can be reached by several mountain trails, some of which are steep and require proper footwear and a reasonable level of fitness. It is open year-round and offers both meals and overnight stays, so booking ahead is advisable.
In 2013, the Rifugio Brioschi was voted the most appreciated mountain refuge in Italy by Italian visitors. This recognition brought more attention to the small summit hut and drew guests from across the country.
