Rifugio Gianetti, Mountain hut in Val Masino, Italy.
Rifugio Gianetti is a mountain hut located at 2534 meters (8313 feet) in the Porcellizzo valley and accommodates around 78 guests in dormitory-style rooms. The shelter serves as a base for hikers and climbers exploring the surrounding Alpine terrain.
The refuge was built in 1913 by the Italian Alpine Club to support climbers exploring Pizzo Badile and Pizzo Cengalo. Since its founding, it has remained a vital base for mountaineering expeditions in this region.
The refuge maintains traditional Alpine hospitality by offering local products and regional wines while facilitating connections between international climbing communities.
The walk from Bagni del Masino takes roughly three and a half hours on marked trails through the Alps. The terrain is steep and demanding, so plan accordingly and bring proper mountain gear.
The shelter sits at a crossroads of multiple mountain trails, including the Roma trail that connects to Omio, Brasca, and Allievi huts. This central location makes it a hub for mountaineers combining different routes through the region.
