Torri ENEL, Modern office building in Centro Direzionale, Naples, Italy
Torri ENEL are two modern office buildings in the Centro Direzionale business district with glass and steel construction reaching about 122 meters high. They contain 33 floors and together form a striking part of the contemporary cityscape.
The towers were built between 1988 and 1994 under architect Giulio De Luca's direction as part of the Centro Direzionale development project. They were created during a time when Naples wanted to modernize its business district.
The towers represent Naples' shift from traditional design to contemporary business architecture and shape the skyline with their smooth, modern facades. They show how the city reinvented itself in the late 20th century and what new working spaces were built.
The buildings are most easily reached via the Centro Direzionale metro station, which connects directly to the towers. The complex has modern elevator systems and clear signage for visitors.
A team of five architects, including Massimo Pica Ciamarra and the De Martino brothers, collaborated on the structural engineering of these towers. This collaboration was notable for a project of this scale and complexity.
