Garibaldi towers, Building complex in Porta Nuova district, Milan, Italy

The Garibaldi Towers consist of two 100-meter high structures, each containing 25 floors, connected by a central service building near Porta Garibaldi station.

The towers were constructed between 1984 and 1992 under the initiative of Ferrovie dello Stato, the Italian railway company, to establish their offices.

Architects Laura Lazzari and Giancarlo Perotta designed these towers, which mark the transformation of Milan's architectural landscape in the late 20th century.

The 2012 renovation introduced geothermal energy systems, solar panels, and photovoltaic technology, making these the first zero-emission towers in Italy.

The buildings feature interactive facades with ventilated cells that create a diamond-like appearance when reflecting sunlight throughout the day.
