Villa Puccini, National museum residence in Torre del Lago, Italy.

Villa Puccini is a two-story lakeside house with Art Nouveau features and gardens influenced by oriental design, standing above Lake Massaciuccoli. The building shapes the landscape with its spacious facade and linear decorations that frame views of the water.

The composer purchased this lakeside property in 1899 and established it as his permanent residence, where he worked until 1921. The estate became his retreat for focused creative periods and has shaped the location's story ever since.

The composer filled his rooms with personal possessions that reveal how he lived and worked on his compositions. You can see his daily objects and furnishings arranged as they were during his creative years.

A guided visit is needed to understand the rooms and their contents properly. The grounds sit directly beside the lake, so allow time to explore the outdoor spaces and water views.

A large archive in the adjacent building holds tens of thousands of documents including handwritten letters and scores that document his creative life in detail. This collection material offers insight into his working methods and correspondence.
