Villa Sormani features uniform height across two stories, a hipped roof with tiles, and a wide stairway leading to pillared garden entrance.
Architect Giovanni Ruggeri designed this residential complex in 1733 for Count Charles Joseph Bolagnos, following the Milanese architectural principles.
The property includes Saint Lucius Church, which was transported piece by piece from a convent in Lugano and reconstructed over seventeen years.
The interior of the main building underwent modifications in the 1980s, transforming the space into separate residential units for modern use.
In 1784, Count Paolo Andreani conducted Italy's first public balloon flight from Villa Sormani, reaching heights of over 1,500 meters.
