St. Lucius Church, Neoclassical church in Brugherio, Italy.

St. Lucius Church is a neoclassical structure in Brugherio built from white stone and positioned on an elevated base. Ionic columns frame a wide entrance portico, and a hemispherical dome caps the building.

The church was originally built in Lugano in 1542 and later completely dismantled. It was then reconstructed in Brugherio between 1815 and 1832 under architect Giocondo Albertolli's direction.

The interior displays 24 medallions showing saints alongside classical decorative motifs, creating a blend of religious and secular artistic themes. This combination reflects the neoclassical taste of the era when the church was rebuilt.

The building is part of the Villa Sormani complex and remains open for services and visits. Access is available through Via San Maurizio al Lambro.

The entire structure was transported stone by stone from Switzerland to Italy, making it exceptionally rare. Few churches have moved across borders while maintaining their complete form.
