Villa Fiorita

Villa Fiorita is an architectural ensemble and the municipal headquarters of Brugherio since 1978. The L-shaped building features late baroque pillars at the entrance and wrought iron railings, with a park of approximately 7,000 square meters (75,000 square feet) extending behind it.

The property was built in 1721 for Count Scotti and passed to Gaspare Ghirlanda in 1778, who carried out major reconstruction work. These modifications shaped the building as it stands today.

The grand staircase displays a fresco titled 'Arts and Crafts' showing scenes of cultural, family, agricultural, and social life as people experienced them in that era. When you walk through the hall, this artwork gives you a sense of what daily activities mattered most to the community at the time.

The building serves as an active municipal headquarters, so some interior areas may be restricted during regular business hours. It is best to inquire about visiting opportunities or special openings when you plan your visit.

Painter Filippo de Pisis lived here from 1949 to 1956 when the building functioned as a health facility. He used the greenhouse as his studio, creating artworks in this unexpected sanctuary.
