Saint Bartholomew

Saint Bartholomew is a classical church building in Brugherio with a Latin cross layout and three naves supported by Corinthian columns. The facade features two rows of Ionic pilasters and was designed by architect Giacomo Moraglia in 1939.

The church was built in 1939 to serve the growing local population while incorporating classical architectural traditions. The bell tower was constructed between 1751 and 1771, indicating an earlier religious presence at the site.

The church displays artistic elements including frescoes, a Tornaghi organ from 1859, and stained glass windows designed by Gio Ponti in 1937. These details shape the interior and create a distinctive feeling as you walk through the space.

The church is located in central Brugherio and can be accessed via Piazza Roma. Visits are possible during regular opening hours, which align with religious services held throughout the week.

The bell tower features decorative pilasters along its exterior and functions as a standalone architectural element within the square. Its slender form creates an interesting contrast with the more solid main church building beside it.
