Villa Volpicelli, Monumental seaside villa in Posillipo, Italy
Villa Volpicelli is a monumental seaside residence with two large crenelated towers overlooking the shore, one of which extends over the sea. The structure displays castle-style architectural elements with defensive features.
The villa was built in the 1600s and appears on Baratta's 1629 map. It later served as a military barracks during the Bourbon period before Raffaele Volpicelli acquired it.
The villa became known as Palazzo Palladini through the TV series Un Posto al Sole, which has filmed exterior scenes here since 2004. This television presence brought the location widespread recognition among viewers.
The residence is accessible by descending Via Ferdinando Russo from Via Posillipo, a path that connects the hilltop area directly to the seafront. This route provides straightforward orientation for finding the location.
The residence features a five-level terraced park with an English garden containing Mediterranean plants that stretches toward the sea. The grounds border those of Villa Rosebery next door.
