Villa delle Peschiere

Villa delle Peschiere is a five-story residence in Castelletto built with Mannerist architectural details designed by Galeazzo Alessi. The building displays the refined construction methods of its time, with generous rooms and thoughtfully planned spaces.

In the 16th century, Galeazzo Alessi designed this villa as part of his major architectural work in Genoa. The project was one of many that shaped the city's growth during the Renaissance.

The name comes from fish ponds that once filled the grounds, showing how Renaissance owners designed water features into their gardens. These kinds of gardens were common ways for wealthy families to display their taste and love of nature.

The villa is located in the historic Castelletto area and can be explored on foot from the surrounding neighborhood. The space is used today for events and gatherings, so visiting hours depend on what activities are scheduled there.
