Chiuso, District in Lecco, Italy.
Chiuso is a district on the southern edge of Lecco situated at about 222 meters elevation. The area extends with views toward Lake Garlate and the neighboring community of Vercurago.
The district maintained its independence until 1869, when it first merged with Maggianico and then became part of Lecco. This consolidation ended its long history as a separate municipality.
The Church of San Giovanni Battista displays 15th-century frescoes by Giovanni Pietro da Cemmo showing religious scenes. These works reflect the artistic traditions that flourished in the local area.
The district connects directly to downtown Lecco through main roads and sits close to Lake Garlate. Its proximity to the lake makes it easy to reach and well connected.
Every May residents celebrate the Palio festival with traditional Lucia boat races crossing Lake Como. At the same time mountain running competitions take place, keeping alive the local sporting heritage.
