Magnodeno

Magnodeno is a mountain viewpoint in Lecco that rises to 1,241 meters and offers views of Lake Como, Monte Barro, Moregallo, and Monte San Martino. The summit is reachable from the starting point through well-marked trails that pass through different terrain zones.

The mountain paths developed over centuries as local residents established connections between Lecco and surrounding mountain communities through trails and mule tracks. These historical routes continue to shape the paths on this mountain today.

Religious symbols mark the mountain paths, including a space with a statue of the Virgin Mary that reflects local mountain devotion. These sacred places show how residents express their connection to the mountain through faith.

Access begins from the Piani d'Erna cable car station and follows marked routes through Campo dei Boi to the summit. The trails are well signposted, making it easy to find your way along the climb.

An open bivouac shelter sits at the summit where hikers can rest while observing the Grigne mountains and the expansive Lake Como landscape below. This resting spot provides unexpected comfort at the peak.
