Santi Materno e Lucia, Lecco

The church features a single nave with cross arches, a gabled ceiling, and a front facade adorned with Ionic capital pilasters and pediment.

Cardinal Carlo Borromeo commissioned the church in 1576 along with a Capuchin monastery, which remained active until Napoleon's government expelled the monks in 1810.

Luigi Tagliaferri created ceiling paintings depicting musical angels and sacred figures, while Giovanni Battista Crespi contributed a canvas showing the Holy Trinity with Saints.

The church stands on Piazza Padre Cristoforo, while the former monastery buildings have been converted into residential units.

The third chapel contains a late Baroque wooden statue of the Sorrowful Virgin accompanied by nine polychrome wax panels illustrating Franciscan miracles.
