The Teatro della Società features a horseshoe-shaped hall with three tiers of boxes, a gallery, and a domed ceiling adorned with decorative elements.
The theatre, designed by architect Giuseppe Bovara between 1843 and 1844, opened its doors with a performance of Gaetano Donizetti's Anna Bolena.
Throughout the 19th and early 20th centuries, the theatre hosted numerous opera performances, including works by composers Ponchielli, Petrella, and Cagnoni.
Located at Piazza Garibaldi 10, the theatre contains 460 seats and underwent technical upgrades during the 1986-87 renovation period.
The structure incorporates specific acoustic modifications recommended by Giuseppe Cusi, achieving sound qualities comparable to Milan's Teatro alla Scala.
