Santa Maria della Stella, Baroque shrine in Militello in Val di Catania, Italy.
The Santa Maria della Stella features a three-nave structure supported by pillars and contains an intricate carved altarpiece from 1753.
Following the destruction of the original church in the 1693 earthquake, construction of the current structure began in 1722 and concluded in 1741.
The sanctuary houses a glazed terracotta Nativity scene created by Andrea della Robbia in 1487, transferred from the former Santa Maria church.
The shrine maintains regular visiting hours and conducts religious services, with a dedicated chapel for the Madonna della Stella added in 1980.
Bronze angels by Emilio Greco adorn the marble doors of the Madonna chapel, while frescoes by Giuseppe Barone decorate its vault.
