Casteddu Etzu, Medieval castle in Cuglieri, Italy.

The stone fortification stands on a hill, featuring remaining sections of perimeter walls, a defensive tower, and underground water storage systems.

Built in 1186 by Ittocorre, brother of Judge Barisone II, the castle marked the southern border of the Logudoro kingdom until 1410.

The fortress represents medieval military architecture of Sardinia, demonstrating the strategic defense methods employed during the kingdom of Logudoro.

Located three kilometers from Cuglieri town center, the castle remains can be reached via the provincial road connecting Montiferru with Marghine.

The castle contains preserved water cisterns that supplied drinking water to military garrisons through an advanced medieval hydraulic system.
