In 1924, Pope Pius XI approved the construction of a central seminary in Cuglieri, funded by the Vatican, selecting this location for its favorable climate.
The seminary served as the first pontifical theological faculty outside Rome until 1971, when the institution and its students relocated to Cagliari.
The building's cloister and chapel remain accessible during specific events, while the surrounding park features sports fields and multiple entrance points.
During the 1980s, the former seminary transformed into a concert venue, hosting performances by Italian musicians Vasco Rossi and Fabrizio De André.
