Villa Aldrovandi Mazzacorati, Neoclassical villa in Camaldoli district, Bologna, Italy.

Villa Aldrovandi Mazzacorati is a neoclassical residence with a central pavilion crowned by Ionic columns, flanked by curved side wings. These wings feature Tuscan-style columns and open terraces, creating a harmonious composition that extends across the landscape.

Count Annibale Marescotti initiated the villa's transformation in 1696, adapting an existing structure that the Aldrovandi family later acquired and reshaped. The family reworked it in neoclassical fashion, establishing the form that defines the property today.

The theater inside remains active today, hosting performances and cultural events where locals gather for theater and music. The building itself reflects a time when such villas served as centers of social life and cultural gatherings.

The villa now houses offices of the Local Health Authority of Bologna and cultural theater organizations. Access may be limited as the building serves primarily as a working facility rather than a public museum.

The side wings, called barchesse, follow a quarter-circle curve and serve more as visual anchors than as usable spaces. Their design reveals how much attention was paid to the optical harmony of the entire composition.
