Chapel of San Luca

The Chapel of San Luca is a religious space within the Santissima Annunziata complex that holds twelve sculptured niches containing biblical figures. Frescoes covering the walls illustrate scenes from the Old and New Testament, creating a comprehensive visual narrative.

The chapel was created during the Renaissance as a work of religious and artistic significance in Florence. In 1565 it became the meeting place for the Accademia del Disegno, which was the first official art academy established in Europe.
