Santuario della Madonna del Ponte

The Santuario della Madonna del Ponte is a church with three naves whose vaults are supported by decorative stucco columns throughout the interior. A notable painting created by Vincenzo Manno in 1819 occupies a prominent place within the building.

The sanctuary was established in 1430 when Cistercian monks began the repopulation of Partinico following its devastation by Saracen raids. This religious complex served as a foundation for the town's subsequent growth.

The sanctuary holds deep meaning for the local community and draws thousands of pilgrims during the week following Easter, who participate in processions through Partinico's streets. This annual pilgrimage week shapes the spiritual life of the town.

The sanctuary is located along SP 63 and can be reached via the Balestrate exit from the A29 motorway, followed by a drive along the provincial road. The site is straightforward to access for most visitors.

The central painting depicts the Virgin Mary holding the Christ Child alongside Saints Peter and Paul, with a representation of the Jato river bridge positioned below them. This composition uniquely blends religious and local geographic elements in a single artwork.
