Spiaggia di Bibione

Spiaggia di Bibione is an 8-kilometer-long beach covered with fine golden sand along the Adriatic coast, featuring shallow, clear waters suitable for swimming. The shoreline is wide and divided into different sections, each with organized zones for sunbathing, water sports, and beach clubs that extend from the water's edge to the roads behind.

The area began as a small Roman fishing community and underwent major transformation starting in the 1950s into a modern seaside resort. This rapid development brought hotels, villas, and infrastructure that turned it into a destination for European vacationers.

The beach serves as a gathering place where visitors from across Europe spend entire summers in rented apartments and seasonal homes. You will see families setting up for the day, groups meeting at beach bars, and people walking the long promenade that connects different sections of the coast.

Rentable sun umbrellas, loungers, showers, and changing facilities are available throughout the beach, with lifeguards stationed in different zones. The best visiting season runs from May through September when water temperatures are warm and most facilities operate at full capacity.

In 2019, this beach became Italy's first entirely smoke-free coastline, setting new environmental standards for the country. This designation has attracted visitors seeking cleaner air and water, and inspired other European beaches to adopt comparable policies.
